This car is one of the very few cars that I have owned that I actually miss. Just no time for it, so I passed it on for someone else to enjoy. Glad you are enjoying it Miguel.:2tu:
It's pretty simple really. Removing the shocks is straight forward. Two bolts one at the bottom another at the top. (with car safely off the ground on jackstands or a 2 post lift) Go ahead and remove them. Once removed you will need a spring compressor, they are available for purchase fairly...
Thanks, yes it's streetable. I'm sure the gas mileage is crappy, but it could drive where ever you wanted to go without issue. It just drives like a car with a cam. The tune is great so it really doesn't have any surging, heck with the 3.33's 6th is more usable than it was on my stock 98.
Ok, the weirdest thing ever. I just had to turn down a guy that really wanted the car. Supposedly had cash and was ready to buy, but there was no way this guy would have survived the drive home. He was not a car guy in anyway, more of an impulse buyer I guess. After talking with him for 2...
I bought the car back in October of 09. I hate to see it go, but its the best way to free up some $$$. This car has probably ruined me for any other GTS thats for sure.
99 GTS ACR with LPE 542
I am reluctantly offering for sale my 99 GTS ACR with the LPE 542 Stroker package (extensive intake and head porting, Oliver billet rods, Moldex Billet 4.250 stroke crank, JE forged pistons, 1.7 roller rockers, check LPE website for more engine package info). It's in...
For starters I will just say let it go man..But if you know anything about LPE and the way the build and tune any of their cars you would know that they are all over built and tuned very conservatively. They do this because they offer a warranty on their performance builds (unheard of in the...
Since the original LPE configuration, the car has had more head work and a different cam all done by George Bryce. And I am sure the tune is obviously different as well to support these changes.
I always love how people think they know more about my stuff than I do. I really don't care what it ran back at LPE nor was that even the topic of conversation. Car makes more power now than it did back then plain and simple. Thanks for the concern.
Leeland
I don't need it mag tested. It was already in Car and Driver back in 01 (I think, I have the mag just not next to me) back when LPE built it. It was the first one they did. Nor do I need any extra proof. It's not like it was some sort of secret when this happened, lots of the original guys...
Well when it ran the 9 sec 1/4 miles it was at 680 RWHP. So that's kind of in line with your number depending on what driveline loss % you choose to use.

Define good street tire? Are you talking about a drag radial like a Nitto or some Mich Pilots? Not sure about the latter but a 10.1 or .2 should be possible with a decent drag radial. Regular radials are a bit tricky. Maybe a 10.8 or .9..LOL The power doesn't come on gradually like a centri...
Well since I am the owner of the car in question (George Bryces old car) its a 1999 ACR with full interior, stock suspension and no kind of weight savings at all. It has the LPE 542 package on it. With slicks in this form straight from LPE it ran low 10's at 138 or so. George went through the...
The only thing I have to add to this is I installed one of the new ROE aluminum radiatiors and it is performing great thus far. It cools better than my stocker (but I suspect it was due for a clean out)and fit like it was supposed to.
Did it without raising the engine or removing the steering rack on my buddies 2000 GTS. Used the Roe supplied drill bit in their pinning kit and my Ingersol Rand pneumatic right angle drill. Went in with ease.
Not sure how you could actually pin the crank without removing the pulley, as...
The guys at UGR use the Alans triple pass on their forced induction cars. Both turbo and blower. We emailed back and forth a few times about it, he said it works fine for them. So I would assume the Roe unit will work just as well.
I think I will be ordering one of those radiators from Sean tomorrow. I have been looking for a while now, and since Sean is a great guy and easy to deal with. It's a win/win situation.
I have personally used TNT with great results on a few cars. I suppose no matter who you mention someone has heard a horror story. Who knows how many are factual accounts or just stories that got blown out of proportion.
Yes we can go a bit darker in NC than VA which is nice. And you can...
There are 2 or 3 really good tint shops down here in the Va Beach area. I had the same problem when I bought mine, I just removed it myself from the side windows and left the back window blacked out. Never a problem since. Not to mention no trouble getting it inspected that way. Let me know...
I have a grinding problem when shifting into 5th gear on my 98 GTS. All the other gears are just fine and once you are in 5th it's fine (doesn't pop out or anything). I wouldn't think 5th would be the first one to give me issues but it is. The problem was there when I get the car. But seems...
They will fit fine. I have 3" V bands on my cats and cat delete pipes. Works like a champ. I put the V bands on each end of the pipe and cats so they just unbolt and slide out of the way. Makes for a very easy swap if I ever decided to change back.:D
