I did some lurking and posting but could not find a post on a Gen1 with the StopTech big brake kit. I found all the Gen 2 info I needed. With the year end blow out JonB was offering on the kits I couldn't pass it up.
I went with the ST60 (6 ***) front calipers and ST40 (4 ***) rear calipers (nominal price difference between ST60 or ST40 fronts). The kit was a cinch to install - although you install it about 3 times when it's your first time.
There is a spot of grinding required on the rear iron uprights not mentioned in the instructions to clear the parking brake (relocated stock rear caliper) - mainly mold flashing removal.
I'll post some day time photos soon.
Just wanted to motivate some of you Gen1 owners!
Yes, they work GREAT!!! No more pull to the right! I now have confidence with the center pedal!
Call JonB - I've heard rumors there might be one of the kits still lying around for the "blow out" price ????
Wheels are the SRT 6-spokes (18" F/19" R).
Tires are PS2 295 Front/PS Cup 345 Rear - NO Rubbing!
