Did you guys see the '08 hood in the classifieds? Not my hood, nor do I know the guy who is selling it, but it seems like a good price. $1,500 for a hood that isn't even out yet.

LOL.... You posted this as I was typing.

The seller is ASC. The same people that used to paint Vipers and made he Viper Diamondback show car shown at last years Detroit International Auto Show. I had a chance to visit their shop recently, neat place.

Here was my other post:

Time for me to "plug" a classified.... this one just showed up for an '08 hood..... thought it may interest a few of you here:

Curious, will the new '08 hood not fit the current SRT? I ask this because of something he says in his ad.

And I quote.

" Maybe it could be a nice garage decoration?"

Why would someone want to make it a garage decoration? Its a new hood that everyone (from what I've read) loves and isnt even out yet; with this ONE exception.

I think he said it could make a nice garage decoration because the ad said the hood is scratched and the paint is far from perfect...not good enough to actually be put on a viper without being repainted

I figured that was the reason, but WHY would anyone NOT want to be the first to put this bad ass hood on their SRT?

Guess he did not think about someone wanting to go to the effort to repaint it. I saw the hood while I was there, it should be an easy repaint.

They had another neat hood, a "second" diamond back carbon fiber hood... it has a big hole in the middle for the intake "horns".. not sure how many would want a big hole in the center of their hood, maybe someone could figure a way to put in clear plexi to show off a polished intake?

I wonder if the intake will line up with the current filter box...

That would be cool to be the first Viper with that hood on it.

I think it should go on a SS or TT Viper though. You may have to back up what that hood is say'in.

I tried to buy it but was too slow on the trigger. I did notice in the photo that some of the screen in the opennings appeared to be damaged and wondered how hard it would be to find replacements. Guess I'll wait for a new one.

Jeff, smooth out the central **** at the intake area a bit (more like '06) and start pumping those puppies out (design has to be a little different to keep DCX off your rear). Lots of buyers here I'm sure.
