Hi everyone, just wanted to say hello to you all. I just found this site and find it really cool. I am currently lookin at a 96 RT10, it looks awsome. I luv it but is doesnt have a/c which im used to having (previous owner of Mustangs and Vettes). Anyways, I am really excited at becoming part of this forum, I will have nothing to contribute for a while since I do not too much about these cars. All i can say is I luv cars (just about anything with wheels :D ). Well if all works out well, Ill be the owner of a 96RT10. They have a used 03(or is it 04) SRT10 with 500 miles on it for 77+K. Its so pretty but no way can i afford that. Anyways, just wanted to say hi to everyone. See you all around

PS..Are you sure theres no AC... I don't think anyone would have ordered a 96 without AC?

I too thought that A/C was standard in 96, do you have a picture of the car? I am selling my 96 and the A/C works great! :2tu: :2tu:

Yup, it says no A/C. Mike, how many miles on car? I see your options in your sig, so what are you askin? I am lookin at this one cause I can get a good deal on it. Trying to work on the SRT10, but even if i work the price, it'll be too high most likely. I am happpy with the 96, it looks sweet, has two hard tops (fiberglass and cloth), soft top, and side windows. The guy who traded it in got a new SRT10. He also washed, waxed, polished the car before trading it in and then polished it again before he left the showroom. Is this anyone's here car? Its a 96 White RT/10 in NJ? Anyways, thanks for the welcome. Ill have to find a way to put ac in the car.

The ONLY way I could imagine that it would not have AC (other than meaning it needs to be recharged) would be if it were stripped down to be a racer / track car, and that puts a whole different spin on reviewing the car for purchasibility.

Welcome, you don't say where you are located, but if it's down South or in the Southwest you will definitely regret having no AC in the summer....but there is always that *******/windowless driving during the morning and evening :) :2tu:

Thank you very much for the warm welcome and the info on the AC unit. I am dreading the cost now, maybe i dont need it, im in Northern NJ.

Tim721 - I sent you an e-mail
Moundir - I am defnitely a driver ,but spend time waxing too :) . The thing is this is going to be a car for my father and I to share and he is more of a waxer than driver, esp with no AC in the car and no "real" windows. If we get it I am going to either change his view on waxing vs driving, or Ill get yelled at for driving too much either way, Im drivin it as much as possible :-D.

my father is a little weary on the purchase now so i am waiting for him to come to a decision cause he is paying the diff after i sell my mustang. He is gettin the history of the viper from the owner of the dealership who he happens to know. If he decides to get the car he will also work on getting a good price on te car. Hopefully things workout and the car will be in my garage by the beginning of next month. Wish me luck :D

Even in the NE, AC will be needed. It's cheaper in the long run to purchase a car with the factory ac installed. Keep in mind, when you sell it, the ac delete will be a tough sell, and will substantiously deminish the value. These cars can get fairly hot in the footwells. In the winter, you won't need the heater much! Just my opinion on the ac. Good luck and have fun! Oh yeh, only WOT when the wheels are straight! John

I agree big time with bandit. Who wants a car without air? Even if you can tolerate it, it will be hard to sell. Unless you are stealing this car, I'd run away from this and look at any other 96, as they ALL have A/C. JMHO
