So, serious question for Ralph. Don't you think it's about time to can your ENTIRE marketing department and start from scratch?

Don't knock it. I understand that the winner gets free Tupperware parties for a year and the Mary Kay Cosmetics distribution rights for his or her neighborhood. LQ.

Nice job, SRT.

I've got a color for you..

How about "SRT's focus on improving the Viper while the Z07 gets ready to eat our lunch" Blue?

Stop goofing around, unlock the '08 and up PCMs or lose me (and several others) as a future owner of anything newer than an '06 forever.

SRT Blew.......

Can't wait for the lug nut naming contest.

SEMA's two weeks away.....who is wants to take odds that there will be nothing new on the Viper front brought to the show? It's only the biggest SEMA show ever, at least 12% bigger than even the best years when the "economy" was booming.

I have been sooooo positive about this car- but I gotta laugh- really- R U SERIOUS??!! After EVERYTHING this poor MALIGNED auto has been thru- to have its obviously BRAIN DEAD handlers TEASE this as something SPECIAL??
How about just "26 CARDS"- no way is marketing playing with a FULL DECK!! Clearly the most UNIQUE name for a paint scheme in the industry!!

So far there has been jack **** released by Mopar for the Viper, even though all that cool stuff was demoed last SEMA.

It is like SRT isn't even trying. I don't get it.

Here's my comment on their FB page.

"Seriously? After all of the PR and Marketing FAILS, you come out with a teaser about "making a mark on history", and this is what you come up with? Unless a BEAST of an ACR comes out soon, a forced induction model form the factory, or at the VERY least, a way for people to unlock the PCM on Gen IV/V's, then color is going to be "final edition blue" because there won't be anymore Vipers made."

SapphireBob, call it what you want but it is one of the major reasons the Viper is doomed if changes aren't made.

I just get sick of hearing this same complaint over and over again. SRT has stated its not that simple to "unlock" the computer. They don't own the rights to the software so it's not just like they can go "ok...we will open up the computer now." Legal issues and red tape etc are involved as well. Lets face it...people buy a viper because it's unique and theres nothing else like it on the road. If your liking the Viper (and the "others" you mention) is solely based on whether you can mod it or not then maybe the car is not for you. My '01 Viper is completely stock. Period. It took me almost six years of ownership before I did my first "mod" as I like to call it. A license plate frame. That was a big deal.

Some people may have bought the car to mod it but for most of us it's bad ass enough out of the box. Look at what the other OEMs have to do just to compete with it. Turbo's, superchargers, Carbon ceramic brakes. The Viper does well on it own WITHOUT all that stuff. The GEN V is a great car for the price. Period. If I could afford one new then I would have one. Vert of course. ;) but can we please stop the I'm not gonna buy one unless stuff. #rantoff

Good news-after being so NEGATIVELY blown away by this FIASCO-I took my VIPER on a 30 mile jaunt around the roads of NJ and am happy to report that "MY VIPER" shares ABSOLUTELY no DNA with SRT Marketing!!!!!
I thought they might be distant cousins-but after reading the TEASE and DRIVING the car-am PROUD to report "NO POSSIBLE RELATION" exists!! Happy Motoring to All!!

I took a nice relaxed drive myself and had an idiot pass me on a back road in a 30mph zone!

Well have fun watching those "Turbos, superchargers and Carbon ceramic brakes" equipped cars blow you by. In this day and age, it is easier than ever before to beat the car that has nothing but big HP thrown into it. All of those legal issues and red tape have to be resolved if they want these new cars to stay at the top for any amount of time.

Don't arm-chair preach about the Viper not being the car for me. I made a decision when I was 7 years old that I was going to own on of these cars and I'm oh so close to reaching that goal. I've learned enough in that time to know that this car isn't just about being unique. It is about being unapologetic, rude, crude and making a statement to everything else on the road. The attitude projected by this car is one that should not allow anything else on the road to beat it without some serious $$$ behind it. Then, just like the Gen II and III Vipers do today, you can throw more power under the hood as it ages to keep that attitude intact. The fact that an Gen IV Viper can be shut down on the highway by a '13 gt500 (read: MUSTANG) with a tune is embarrassing. A MUSTANG. What can the Gen IV owner do about that? Nothing.

A locked up Viper is simply not right. A Viper is not a luxury car. It is a working man's super car. It WAS the car that made aftermarket tuners salivate. Now it is just a car that people brag about putting a license plate on.
