I am going to host a gathering of Vipers at the Olympic Flight Museum's annual Air Show this year on weekend of June 19-20. show details will be posted on Olympic Flight Museum: Dedicated to the preservation and flying of vintage planes and helicopters.

The event will me limited to 20 Vipers first come first serve on this thread. You and your passenger will get free admission with your Viper. Since I will be busy flying in the show I will probably ask Paul R. to help me get the passes out to you guys if I am not able to mail them out early. The cars will be displayed together for public viewing. You must be in Olympia by 9am at the gate. The event will go on until 5 at which time there will be a large outdoor party with band. You will see jets, helicopters, old planes etc. About 5000 people a day attend this event. You will have all access and be free to roam the show area. I had planned this for saturday. for those who want to come sunday, let me know and I can get you in. Also, for those who are local and ********, there will be a private airshow/practice session Friday evening from 6-8 PM in which I can get a few of you in to get up close and personal with the aircraft. There will also be hotel rooms available at the airport hotels at show rates for those who want to make a weekend out of it or will be too intoxicated to drive (cars can stay on the airport and they will have guards on them all night, we have big time security)

more to come!

Also, for those real ******** folks, you can join the museum membership and for a donation can take a flight in some of the planes like the P-51 Mustang or Cobra gunship helicopter. Its not cheap but its the thrill of a lifetime.

Looked up the options:
$300 = T-6 Texan warbird trainer or OH-6 Cayuse helicopter
$650 = A6M Tora Zero warbird
$950 = premier helicopters
$1100 = premier fighter aircraft
$1500 = BAC-167 Strikemaster

Yes, I will of course have my car there.

We just recieved notice that we will have both an F-18 Hornet and an F-16 at our air show doing a full afterburner low level power demo. You will be in a front row seat to this. We had these guys two years ago and it is the most incredible power and noise demo you will ever hear.

Sounds awesome!! As a pilot, a Viper owner and an avid aviation enthusiast, I really wish I could attend! I'll be in western WA this spring but unfortunately not during mid June.

Enjoy!

Also, an air power demo by an F-16 / F-18 is one of the most awesome displays of noise and power you'll ever see.... until you see the F-22! :omg:

I see it's now limited to 10 Vipers, since I'am not a member of the VCA anymore, I will withdraw from the show. To Give the chance to Members Only. But I will be there, been to this show many times. Great Event!

Brian,

That's really good of you to do that. But I'd like to suggest another alternative - come back into the club, and join us!

The club has changed quite a bit over the past several years. You can see that best if you take a look at our new web site VCA Home. We're trying very hard to put together events that encourage folks to come out and play, and bring their Vipers!

We don't want to discourage folks from coming out at all - just the opposite. I would encourage you to continue to plan on coming out to the event. If the event does fill up, then Brian or Paul can either bump you (if that happens) or help you process a renewal.

I hope you'll consider not only joining us for the event, but (re-)joining the club for all the other cool events too!

Steve

That's ok, just leave the keys in the car parked outside and we will have a volunteer pick up your car and bring it to the show for you. no worries.. :)

Is it both Saturday the 19th and Sunday 20th or can you show up for just Saturday?
Our son has a race on Sunday, but I would love to attend Saturday if that is an option.

I thought about joining in and crashing the party since I am in Seattle this weekend with the ACR. Washed the car yesterday and it is raining out now so I am out.

No problem! You've got 2 more weeks 'till the airshow. Plenty of time to re-wash! :)
(tomorrow's auto-cross party is canceled anyway)

I drove in the rain from Portland and it took me at least an hour to clean the car and it really is not that clean. I am heading back this coming week for more business in Salt Lake and then back to Havasu. It may be 57 degrees here but it is 110 in AZ! I am taking a hiatus from medicine( long story) and reviewing my options. I looked a a locums job in the Everett Clinic but they decided on someone else for a permanent position which I was also interested in...such is life. I will be back for the summer at least and will try to get the ACR as well as my Land Cruiser up here. Thanks for the response and sorry I did not mean to hijack the thread.

If I have enough takers, I will try and get a Huey helicopter and take the group for a short flight for those who might want to go sat morning before the show.
