Personally, I don't like the fact that it doesn't (anymore) tell me how many new threads are there since i last read. and the font (yes, i've tried jackin' w/ my broswer) just looks too crowded.

What do y'all think?

All opinions welcome!

I saw Lee's comment RE: intermediate step, but I didn't hear what he was upgrading us to (re: look and feel, etc...). I have volunteered to help if needed...

I hope the final version will have the "forum title" (RT/10 and GTS for ex.) at the end of the topic to avoid going back up the page to switch to the forum.
I hope i was clear...

I miss that too!! THAT little tidbit was something I added years ago as a "hack" to make navigating easier. :)

I have AOL and some of the links will not open but ask if I want to down load a file. Whats up with that? I have to open up the VCA main page through internet explorer. A pain in the back side.

Why did they put a restriction on how often we can do a search on something? I just tried it and could not find what I was looking for with the keywords I entered. I tried searching again using different keywords and it gave me this message: You cannot make another search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes.

Tried it after waiting a few minutes and it worked. Tried another search right after that and got the You cannot make another search... message again.

Hey Pat,
This was happening to me using Firefox as well for a brief period during the upgrade.

I'm not familiar with the AOL browser, but if you can, go in and clear your cache/cookies and close all instances of the browser and re-open. That was enough to fix it for me.

I'll wait as well, check it out for a while and then decide.
Normally though, new software is a very good thing!

Don't care for it at this point either. But I am willing to roll w/ it and see how it turns out in the end. I am sure it will be an upgrade and we just have to get used to it.

I hate:
- flames in col2 for every post. Set a high value for a hot post.
- post header col3 is too small.
- poster name col4 is too big.
- rating col7 should be deleted.

My biggest complaint is that everything is in "bold" font on the main post list page. Why? It hurts the eyes to look at everything in bold. Can you image someone sending a resume that entirely bold. So please take off the bold and see the amazing difference it will make.

Also, it would be great if the "reds" on the page move to "blues" or "grays".

At the least, try it out for a week and get feedback to some of these suggestions.

Here's a link to a very clean looking forum with all the same information.

My points so far:

Flames got to go! This isn't a ricer board!

Would like the quick reply at the bottom back.

OH, flames aren't good! Or did I already say that?

Keep talkin' guys, it's the best way to let the programmers know. I'm forwarding ALL comments. But remember this is only an intermediate migration step. Also remember that some things won't work well all the time asd the progarmmers may be tweaking what you are using at the same time. Only thing I can say as a non programmer is that I have been allowed to cruise through the final version and I love it as a user. No other board on the internet will have anything on us in terms of features, speed, user options or "look" once it is done.

Another thing I'd like to add is a link that says, "Today's Posts". When you click this link it will bring up all the posts that have been updated today. This is a fast way to access all current posts on the forum without clicking into each individual forum. It will definitely increase the popularity of this board.

I have already seen someone post it, but it would surely come in handy when the forum title on the bottom of a page would return. Right now its a PITA to have to scroll all the way to the top again. Also, I miss the number of new replies next to a topic title, I really liked this option.

The old software used to have a Mark all read link in the main index page, in addition to one in each forum list of messages. The only place I've found one in the new version is in the My Home page.

I'd like to be able to change my own signature by myself.

I got rid of the old signature out of frustration.
