ratcheting noise?

I noticed on the VCAMN cruise last sunday, about half the time when coming to a stop,or after stopping, i would hear what sounds like a muffled ratcheting noise coming from the shifter area or dash, does it a couple secs and quits My wife even heard it so I know I'm not herein' things. Almost sounds like bad ABS ratcheting but my car doesn't have ABS..... any ideas anybody?

no, sometimes it happens right when you come to a stopor right after you have stopped! I had an idea last night while trying to go to sleep,, do some of these new fangled radios w/ the animated face plate make sounds like computers w/ they are running?
My wife thinks my car is posessed!!

I've heard the same thing. A quick tick, tick ,tick, tick, sound. Sory no help I couldn't find it either.

I've been listening to that noise for almost ten years. Had no luck trying to track it down. Was always told it was a throwout bearing assembly noise but I replaced that when I put the new clutch in and the noise didn't change one bit.

Take it apart, put it back together, & trade it for a new problem....that's my pattern.

It's not working out very well for me, but maybe it can help you.

Are new tools tax deductible? Mine are showing wear.

It isn't that solenoid for the skip-shift is it?
