I was cruising around in the Yellow Beast the other day when suddenly I spotted a group of young people emerging from a local school. With nothing on the agenda and some cool music on the stereo, I proceeded to cruise through the school parking lot (giving it a little extra "rev", of course). The reaction was priceless! All those heads turning and jaws dropping. Yeah, I know, they are all young folks, but it is still fun to give the future generation a little show now and then. Any other "show-off" stories out there?

When the weather is cool enough to where people turn off their car's air conditioner and roll down their windows I like to pull up beside them but far enough back to where they have to really turn their heads to see what's making their car shake and also sounds so mean.

What's weird is my car is so much quieter with the Roe Supercharger than it was with just the Belanger Headers, Random Tech Ultra High Flow Cats, and 3" Corsa Cat Back.

Hmm let's see..back in '95 or so when Vipers were still a bit rare, some high schoolers gave me the, "I'm not worthy" bowing motion on their knees when I drove by. At a local large state park once about the same time, some Deng Lijun music making its' way out of the Viper's CD player charmed an otherwise timid Chinese couple into a lengthy conversation about Vipers, Chinese music, and an invitation to visit them in Beijing... (Yue liang dai biao wo de xing)

So you have to cruise thru a school zone to get noticed. What a boring life you must have. Who knows maybe we will be reading about you trying to offer little kids candy. Is this one of the reasons you purchased your viper? to be noticed by kids in school?

I offer little kids candy when I'm in my viper!

Today in fact, I drove through an elementary school and all those little kids loved my Mother Goose Shoe! :D

Hey, would you yellow boys be interested in some YELLOW Chuck Tator's t-shirts? I had some made up, but had to by twelve to get the two I wanted. If interested, let me know here or email me at [email protected]. I asked for permission from Chuck before putting these up, so all is cool. I've got 8 to "sell", but just getting cost from them. Also, any of you that got a T-shirt from Chuck, thank him, he doing above and beyond with these things! He actually got the first one from me(switched things around on him :D )

Yes, heres one. I stopped in the big parking lot of a local market tonight on the way home. Pulled in way to the back of the lot, away from other cars and traffic. Before I could get out of the car there were 4 people gathering around with the usual compliments and awe, and then this very attractive woman in her late twenties comes up, looks me in the eye and says " This car makes me wet!"
Well I have had some cool cars in my life and have always enjoyed the women that love cars, but have NEVER had anyone say something like that about my car. Yesssss, Vipers do rock!

Hi Mike! Do the Yellow shirts come in XXXL Long? Or even XXL Long? I'm 6'5", but with a long torso, so I need the tall man (Long).

I was fortunate enough to take the viper to prom. I spent the first 10 minutes or so of the night talking to the school's liason officer ( who kept an eye on it for me :) ), a couple friends, and a couple complete strangers about the car.

I had more people than I can remember come up to me throughout the night with thier jaw in the "lowered" position, and totally one-uped everyone who had been bragging about thier limos a couple days before.

Finally when it was time to leave the lodge that it was held at, traffic leaving the place sucked. I told myself i was just going to sit off to the side and either idle, or park until it cleared out. With the school's parking lot, I know how most of the people drive. They stick thier nose in anywhere, and rarely care about other people and thier cars. As i crept forward into the spot i was going to sit at, I had 4 cars waving, honking, and motioning me to go ahead of them, holding back all the other cars. Scchhhwing!

Some of my friends waited 15+ minutes to leave. It took me less than 45 seconds. :)

Man, that's like throwing raw meat in front of a starving dog! ;)

I know what it's like though - the other night my wife and I were leaving the movie theater in her FX35. A nice RT/10 pulls out in front of us leaving the theater at the same time...I tell me wife to follow him for a good laugh. She doesn't quite see it yet..

The RT drives past the front entrance on his way out (Friday night, huge theater - probably 350 people milling around out front).

350 necks/heads SNAPPED to attention and all followed the Snake. Fingers snapped up - guys pushed their girls out of the way - and offered the "praise Viper" offerings.

It was pretty amazing actually - you expect the response but the magnitude was unreal...

Hey Ken,
The largest one I have is the XL. I have 2 Med.(good for the wife), 3 large and 3 X-large. My fault, should have gotten the bigger shirt over the med.

Settle down Austin, Hemi's a long-time member here and the comment wasn't that big of a deal, as compared with your response.

Last night I had the Viper out and was waiting to make a left turn onto a 4 lane highway. There was a young guy in a mid 80s (square headlight)Camaro behind me also waiting to turn.

When the light changed, I pulled out into the far lane and heard the Camaro come on to pass. I did what any other self-respecting Viper owner would do and gave it some gas in 2nd. Obviously I left him like a scalded cat.

When I slowed and he pulled beside me, he screamed "F---ing Awesome, F---ing Awesome" several times.

But...everyone on this board know about the responses you get with a Viper.

I went to an Italian car show with my brother (he has a Ferrari 328), had dinner with the group and they told me to bring the Viper to the show. It was amazing how many people walked past cars costing 10 times what mine did just to see her. Many of the Ferraris and Lambo's were roped off; I had my car open and allowed anyone that wanted to sit in it and take pictures of them in my car. If they didn't have a camera I took their picture and e-mailed it to them. Many people asked what my car number was-when they found out it wasn't listed they wanted to do a 'write in vote' for her.

I could write pages of experiences of driving around town; and I have only had her 5 months!!!

Your right Slaughter, I shouldnt have said what I did. BUT, he shouldnt have made such an jerkish response. To me, it seemed like he was going out of his way to be a **** with his comment. This is a great post, I love to hear stories about how people react to Vipers. I didnt care to see/read his mean remark. MAYBE his intentions werent to be a **** but, was actually joking around. But, thats not the way I interpreted it. Sorry if I was a little harsh. :D

I remember when Lee brought his Viper to our HS to pick up his daughter/my g/f. I grabbed a couple close friends to let them look at it quickly. Next day, one of the car guys I was familiar with asked if those were 20"s on the '00 Viper. I told him those were the stock 18"s, he half didn't believe me.

Maybe the "Shock" was an adult trying to show off to school kids and the "Awe" was them saying to themselves, "what a tool".

Makes me want to sell my Viper.

If you're trying to bash on Lee, he would rather have not gone to the HS with the Viper. But his wife got stuck at the office, Lee brought the Viper to work, and had to go pick his daughter up.

I had just bought my Steel Grey GTS and was driving through a nice shopping area one night. Ahead I saw a group of about 10 kids, ages 15 to 18 I think. They where looking at (with smiles on their faces) a tweaked out Acura something. It was silver with ground effect, fin on the back, the works. It looked good. I myself was looking at it as I drove by. They didn't see me coming down the street, but when I got up near them this girl starts screaming and jumping up and down pointing at the Viper all these kids turn from the Acura to this beautiful AMERICAN muscle car rumble slowly by. I had just waxed it too and with the street all lit up, it must of been a site. Some guy, obviously the owner of the Acura, I saw put his face inside his shirt and turn his head because the snake put him to shame. It was really funny.
It's wild because I live near Palm Beach and Porsches, Vettes and Ferraris are everywhere but no one's seen a Viper

I just don't get the whole "show off stuff", do you think anyone really cares? What do you really expect to get out of it? I agree with the above, if I saw some old fart going though my HS parking lot in a Viper, I think I would be looking at the guy and wondering if he was on crack or something.
