I recently purchased an OEM serpentine belt for my '98 RT/10 on Ebay (NOS) for 1,50 € (not a typo! ... quite a good deal I'd say :) ).
The belt seems to have sat on the shelf for many years. Although never used I am not sure, if it is a good idea to install it as the material might have aged a bit....?! (I know, I should have raised this question befor buying.... :smirk:).

What do you think, would you install such a belt?

I'd run it. I've got a car with a belt on it at least that old and I think the 44K mile belt on my '97 might be original too. Serpentines are pretty durable belts and they don't generally let go all at once. If it does start to come apart, you should be able to spot it before it fails. Most likely if it does start to fail, you'll notice chunks of rib missing first.

All depends on how it was stored.

If it was stored in a cool, dry place and the best shows no checking, small cracks, etc; you should be fine. :)

Use it and have a spare in the car too.

You got an incredible deal on that belt!

LOL, I have heard the NOS term for Nitrous Oxide System for so long, I didn't think New Old Stock. I thought What the heck is a Nitrous belt?
