I think it's tough to get good mileage out of the Viper - over 20 mpg. I can do it but it's too boring and time wasted not enjoying the car for what it is. I've gotten 24+, especially when looking for a gas station on fumes.
I have no problem with mine. Do follow the instructions to the letter, especially the part about aligning the blades with paper. It may hang until fully broken in - about 300 miles (blade seating in the bores).
ZPs are being discontinued?! Are you sure? PS2s may be a better performing tire but the ZPs are much tougher. I don't think they are that bad. I'm still running on my originals even though I should change them but I'm waiting until I hit the treadwear bars. I don't want to be stuck on the...
I've done hi-flo cats with stock exhaust and hi-flo without crossovers - too much drone without the crossovers. Now I'm back to stock cats without crossovers. The heat drop was noticeably less dropping the crossovers than dropping the stock cats and staying with hi-flows and crossovers. All...
I know all too well how this could have happened and feel very lucky I was more fortunate then Doug with the 3 snakebites I had. Doug, if he recovers, might hate the Viper unless maybe someone told him about the advice all of you posted here. It would have been good if he had experienced the...
I have done it both ways in my garage, swapping the gen III/IV mufflers. I could not tell any difference with the sound, fit, or performance. Visually - only difference is the number of clamps on the inlet side of the muffler as Dan mentioned. What's the entire difference between the Gen III...
There's a little bit of drone but the heat reduction is significant. If you have non-factory cats then the drone will be bad. For those of you that like LOUD, then it won't matter.
For those of you talking about not lifting the throttle - I think that depends on the situation - the weight transfer does make sense - I'm aware of that but I was just talking about WHAT WORKED, not theory. A related concept of not lifting is trail braking. These are weight transfer and...
It's OK to share your embarassment - some of us will get a good laugh at you but some of us will feel you vicariously in a quiet manner. Some of us will simply note not to try to remove a thermostat.
So what would you have done? What do you do with a car that doesn't respond to the normal measures when tires start letting go? I suspect the tires and/or the street were cold but at this time of the year - probably tires weren't warmed up enough. I was luckier - three times. I've had the...
Rear exit would give better sound and less interior heat for the same power but doesn't look as good as the side; I think you could get more power this way because the sound volume would be more forgiving with a rear exit.
