Who has road raced at Spring Mtn. in Pahrump Nev.?

Pahrump is a very technical and demanding 2.2 mile circuit. Good elevation changes and very complex curves make this a difficult track to figure out within a weekend. The only wall is pit wall on the short front straight. There is a deep trench on each side before the end of the front...

    Suspension mods.....

Interesting dialogue between Erik and Sean, both very knowledgeable on the subject. When they get into the highly detailed techno-babble, they both lose the attention of the Viper owner. I've enjoyed working with each of them and my check book proves the degree of flattery and respect I have...

Bob Lutz Gives"Thumbs Down" to the SRT/10!!!!!

Re: Bob Lutz Gives\"Thumbs Down\" to the SRT/10!!!!! I know, I know, Lutz is an icon. Lutz is the reason why we have Viper. I know, I know. I've read as much about Viper histroy as the next guy and I've even had personal correspondence with Bob in the past. He's a very likable guy and a...

How Often Should Fluid in Diffferential be Changed ?

Service manual says you should check rear axle fluid every 12 months or 7500 miles. Complete change after every 3rd or 4th track event is what I do. My Viper Tech recommends 2 bottles of friction modifier instead of just one as suggested in the service manual. My car is strictly for track...

    2003 Comp. Coupe

Gary, when I spoke of SCCA I was referring to the World Challenge Series. Rick, make no doubt about it...the CC is being built for the VRL. That's been their story since day 1. If it manages to get homologated into some other series, that would be icing on the cake. Dodge is focused on...

    2003 Comp. Coupe

Muzzy, De La O, and I received our calls from Kim. We are all in on the first series of Comp Coupes. Several weeks ago I talked to John Fernandez and Herb Helbig about the racing venue for the Comp Coupe. This car is being made specifically for the Viper Racing League. John wants absolutely...

Just out of curiosity, what does the road course we would be racing on look like at Nashville?

VRL Wheel to Wheel Racers--Spread the Word

You're not gonna like what I have to say..... My first mistake was purchasing a Hutchens device. My second mistake throwing it out and purchasing the Teamtech device. I tried both of them at Willow Springs. They both suck. Now for my opinion... To get either device tight enough so that it...

    HELP!!! DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!!

Our Viper Tech in Phoenix at Bill Luke Dodge has dealt with this issue successfully for a number of our members. His name is Eddie Martin and his cell phone number is 602-448-1587. I'm sure he would be happy to hear from you. Best of luck.

    cleaning track rubber off car

I've had good results from Meguiar Clear Coat Body Scrub. The sooner you use it, like after each track run session, the better.

    Track alignment for Buttonwillow

With 7 right hand turns and 5 left hand turns, I would expect that the same alignment on the left and right sides of the car would be OK. That definitely wasn't the case at Willow Springs. Temps on the inside of my right tires were 50 degrees hotter than the outside (way too much negative...

Any news on the Comp Coupe orders?

I hope I'm not out of line here, but this is my understanding. I don't know where Skip got the figure of 41. This is probably a typo. I spoke to John Fernandez and Herb Helbig when we were at the Chrysler proving grounds in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago. They are both incredibly enthusiastic...

Viper Days opens at Willow Springs

Wheel to Wheel racers from Arizona are looking forward to this event in order to pad their trophy room. Johnny "Yuma" Weigel, Phil De La O, Ritch "Muzzy" Marziale, Fat Albert, Bob "Bubba" Stevenson, and myself will be on the starting grid. PMUM, that's a beautiful photo of your new motor coach...

Where can I buy an inexpensive Snell SA '00 rated helmet?

Re: Where can I buy an inexpensive Snell SA \'00 rated helmet? Ron, I think you should reconsider your approach on helmets. Get the highest quality helmet you can afford. This is not a good area to be budget-oriented. As the saying goes, "If you have a $100 head, get a $100 helmet." A...

    Baer VS. Brembo Rotors??

When you say $1,000, I assume that's the total price for all 4 rotors. I've heard in the past that some of our members actually paid that much for one rotor! The most you should have to pay for a race-quality rotor is about $200-250 each. Unless you're a heavy racer, I wouldn't recommend...

    Car Trailers-Best size?

My first trailer was a Sloan 20'. My buddies had the 18'. The 20' was better because it gave me enough room to carry an extra set of tires in front of the car. Since that time, I've owned enclosed trailers of 20', 26', 40', and 28'. My favorite is the one I have currently, which is a 28'...

speed at Pocono long course NJ Viper club event

The black McCann GTS-R that you saw at Pocono was the same car that I mentioned set the Road America track lap record for its class. 168 MPH is really hauling butt on any road course in America.

    Race Vehicle Preparation

Dan, you are so understated it makes me grin. You are one of the most capable Viper experts in the country and I am not afraid to say so in this public forum. Willow Springs is your home track, too. Look forward to seeing you at Viper Days in late January. Anyone going to this event should...

speed at Pocono long course NJ Viper club event

170 MPH...very impressive. Could someone please tell me the length and nature of this Pocono track? I crewed for McCann Racing for the Grand Am race at Road America a couple years ago. We were racing our Viper GTS-R in the GTO class. This is a real factory GTS-R! One of our drivers, Jeff...

    JRZ Shocks for 96 GTS

An 8" spring will need a helper spring to keep it "attached" to its top perch when the suspension goes into full droop. If you don't use a helper, the top of the main spring is free to dangle around during full droop and smash/rub the side of your shock body.
