I think we have diagnosed that I have a bad water pump. I did a search and found many of the same symptoms I have. I also see where many have replaced the water pump, and the problem is solved.
My question is are the replacement pumps "better" and failure is not an issue?; or are there...
jbs45,
What year is your hard top?
I suspect it is newer than mine (1996), and may be very different.
I just went and looked at mine, and there are no springs.
The latch rotates from side to side freely (no spring), with just rubbing friction.
The plate where you slide the latch has a detent...
Huuummmmmmm,
What year?, and maybe it makes no difference. The 2 Phillips head screws that hold the latch in the top, should have fallen into your lap if the top was on the car, not into the top. I just fixed mine as the latch became loose and the top would vibrate and unlock itself from one...

Check out the pictures of "Garage Floor...", in my photo gallery. I have had this floor for 4 years now and it serves well. Available from Sam's Club, as well as other places.

You are probably correct, I just read the MTP from the invoice, it was a side post only. I didn't look at the battery - a little hard to see, as you know. At any rate it is a good battery, and fits with no "post" interference (side post only).
Later,
Interstate: MTP-78, 85 month, about $90.00
I replaced the original (1996) battery with this one in August of 2005.
OH, DEFINITELY a Battery Tender.

Make your own decision:

I use WIX (51085 for Viper), on all my cars.

You do not need to remove the rear calipers, I repeat, YOU DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE THE REAR CALIPERS.
Remove the pins, noise spring, and pads. Remove the rotor - you may need to rotate the hub to get the wheel studs in the correct position for the rotor to come off. Screw in the piston as...
GTSJERRY,
I have the same problem, herky, jerky passenger side motor. I have a replacement driver's side motor sitting on the bench; haven't gotten around to installing it yet. Are you saying a new DRIVER'S side motor did not fix the problem?
