Garage Floor Coating

Roadracing...skill Vs racing tires?
Tires do make a difference. However, it is no replacement for seat time. Learning how to take a car to the edge on any tire, learning how to be consistant, lap after lap, learning how to be smooth with steering input and learning to be be slow in and fast out of corners is way more important as...- Mike H

Re: Suspension Question.....Driver\'s side not level. Having ride heights different is common if you need to jack a corner to even out the cross weights. One main thing to have checked when lowering a car, Especially an inch, is suspension geometry. What everyone forgets about is bump steer...- Mike H

Re: Suspension Question.....Driver\'s side not level. Setting ride heights and scaling the car for weight (with you in it) sets the car up, Hopefully to make the car nuetral and weighted evenly. This helps balance especially if you race the car on road courses.- Mike H

If you guys think 2:19 and 2:25 is anywhere fast you need to start driving the track in more than 3rd gear.....or definitely take some driver schools. I ran with Hoosiers, just warming up laps of 2:09 and 2:10 at Watkins Glen. That is a stock motor, headers only on the motor, Hoosiers, 4piston...- Mike H

Off track insurance for COMP COUPE
Wayne.....Is that 1400-1500 for storage, transportation and theft? If that is just for that the price is way too HIGH!! Gulfway Insurer's qouted a price of $ 550.00 for coverage of the vehicle (110K) and tools and value of trailer at another 21K. It covered the vehicle as long as it was not...- Mike H

Alignment Settings...RESULTS
Not sure you really want Delrin type bushings on a car that is not a race car. While these type bushings free up the suspension movement, you will feel every bump in the road. Rubber style bushings absorb alot of the irregularities of every day road driving.- Mike H

ARCHER AND VIPERSPEED AT SCCA RUNOFFS - CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR
Well, it definitely would have been nice to Bobby Archer take the win, but its still great to see the Viper definitely making its mark in the racing world. Congrats to the Viper speed team on some great racing and hope they take it to the Bow Tie Boys next year!!!- Mike H

Alignment Settings...RESULTS
Dropping the car an inch , can change suspension geometry immensely. You must get the car checked for Bump steer, when you drop the suspension, EVERYTHING changes, especially if you race the vehicle. A good race shop may be able to help you with this.- Mike H

When should I RE-align my car for the track??
Not sure what everyone does, but we now rescale the car every 3 races and recheck alignment specs before EVERY event. We have the alignment tools and I guess having a certified Viper tech and road racer and circle track racer as crew chief definitely has had its advantages. It has showed as we...- Mike H

Dry Sump for the V-10???

Road course tips needed!
Sonny and Morgan, tell it well. The best advice is GO SLOW! Take your time, drive smooth. Slow in and fast out is good advice.- Mike H
