KVerges......Got to somewhat disagree with you. I do agree seat time will always make you smoother and faster. As you go thru the learning curve andd get to know the feel of your car you start to learn more about whether the car is underdteering or oversteering in certain corners.
You make a...
Their is no Viper instructor better than Bobby Archer. Racing and setup of the Viper is Bobby's business. if you are serious about learning how to drive the Viper at its limit Bobby's the man. I have been racing for a while, have talked with Bobby at length and have raced against him in Viper...
DO NOT RACE ON A PLUGGED TIRE!!!!!
It is dangerous enough racing in a well maintained car. A plugged tire can lose the plug under extremme heat when you are doing 150MPH and having a flat at high speed is very dangerous.
Wait, be safe!!! Get a new tire!
My 96rT before use to stall at the red lights as I was slowing down. We found the o2 sensors were bad and after replacing then the car was fine. Sounds like the same problem.
Ok, ok, .....I thought the spell check was working. Apparently, not working as well as the Viper. I wonder if my crew chief has a fix for that one...HMMMM
Seth:....Don't worry, I'll be back to see if that gremlin machine of yours has the nerve to make the pass. (LOL)
Dean:....Right now...
The #53 Viper prepared by Viper Tech Joe Kallas from Gary Barbera Dodge, Roxborough Pa. and driven by Mike Hartley captured the pole position and the win in class at its very first visit at the 2 mile Summit Point SCCA event.
In a field of 24 cars including 8 GT1 and 9 ITE prepared cars Mike...
Barbera Dodge in Roxborough Pa, has now completed the recalls, both font and back on both my Vipers, including the race Viper. Joe Kallas, at Barbera is a great Viper tech, as well as my crew chief and is an avid road racer. Anyone in Jersey or Pa. go see Joe and the rest of the Barbera team also.
Re: Once again Arrow vs T&D\'s
I bought the Arrow rockers for my race viper. I then put them next to a set of T&D rockers.
Anyone want to buy a set of Arrow rockers? Once I saw the difference up close and how they mount, my race motors only get T&D's. I do think for an everyday once in a...
Well Skill is always a factor of seat time, so with that being equal, a well balanced suspension setup and correct tires and temps being part of that would be next. Having lots of power and a lousy setup will make you slow out of the corners. Having a car that pushes into a corner entry will...
I have allready had my 96 rt-10 welded once before and it broke again. We found that racing the cars (don't we all do that?) breaks the welds loose. The racks are only spot welded at the clips. We welded them all the way around and they still will break. The 2002 model cars have an entire...
First, the Viper is not the best Drag car by any means. I can bring along our 68 Camaro and put a 9 second tear in the quarter and all for less than 30 K invested. BUT its STILL ..ONLY a Camaro.
But bring all these rockets to the road course, INCLUDING the GT-40 and lets see what its made of...
Yes, the front splitter was plywood. This is PVO's second test mule car. It was loaded with lots of Data Aquisition wiring as PVO was their to test suspension and reliability. They are now testing hard to see what the car needs to refine the setup and work on any bugs.
All in all the car was...
If you are running on the street stick to the low end of stock ride height and to stock alignment specs. It will keep the geometry right and maximize tire wear. Changing ride heights means you need to change bump steer. More aggressive setups, mostly for racing wear more on tires, thats ok for...
Why is it that the ones that complain the most do the least.....If they think they are all that, bring your butts to a Viper Days race or a SCCA regional or national event and teach all us no talent racers something.....It is so easy to criticize when they have no conception of what the heck...
Well the GT-40 may be a great car....but really....Is that the best Ford can come up with? Too many criticize the NEW SRT/10 but think about this. Dodge created a NEW icon in sportscars...THE VIPER! The best Ford can do is resurrect a 40 year old car....and we should get excited about that...
