How do I avoid swirl marks in the paint?

Thanks for the post Junkman. You are no doubt a master of your craft. Your info is duly noted. I have used nothing but Adam's stuff since 2003. I formerly owned a company called EFI Unlimited that specialized (at least in part) in automotive detailing/customization. While most who see my cars...

    Best Polisher?

I have a Makita 9227 and haven't used a better buffer/polisher. Decent weight, adjustable speed, locking trigger, easy pad swaps.

How do I avoid swirl marks in the paint?

I use Microfiber everything and nothing but the best detailing stuff with tons of detail spray at all times and I still end up with fine scratches. Point in fact, I don't think you'll be able to avoid it. Get a good detailer or learn how to buff a car properly and you can mitigate your problem...

RT vs GTS, Maybe Open Air Isn't All Its Cracked Up to Be!

I never have owned a convertible/speedster/targa...whatever. I definitely wouldn't mind my first one being an RT10, but I think the next car on the list is the Ford GT, so my roofless experience will have to wait. Too bad there are so few in Hawaii. I'd like to go for another ride in one to see...

    Brushed Aluminum/Polished Gas Cap = 6 hours

Vipur/Paul - Mahalo guys! Bruce - Claybar huh? Don't think that would've worked with my situation. Keep us posted. IEATVETTES - Thank you brutha. I actually did use my Dayton 7" buffer to finish the shine. Red & white rouge to give it some bling. Maxdaddy - Thank you. RE: Chroming? No I...

    Brushed Aluminum/Polished Gas Cap = 6 hours

Along with a couple of nice blisters! After looking at pics of the MGW caps for the last couple of weeks, I decided I preferred the profile and appearance of the stock unit better. So at about 9PM last night, I finally got the urge to pull my stock aluminum gas cap and refinish it. When I...

That was posted on Supraforums. Very cool program. I'd love to see some of the real forum big dogs go at it with a legit match-up.

    Gen 2 Cooling issues resolved!

Very enticing mod. DC, how much does this set-up add (weight-wise) to the car? I am definitely interested. Also, does the front fascia have to be removed to install this?

    3" vs 2.5" header & exhaust

Good post Ted. I've read posts about slower times with the larger exhausts on these cars, but can't for the life of me, imagine that dual 3" is too much exhaust for a big 488...even a stock one.

    Anyone gone down this road?

You might also want to double check all fastening points in the exhaust (portion touched during the cat install) for exhaust leaks. Any fuel odor accompanying the new high temps? How about more backfiring during decel?
