Well, I made the trip to my friendly Dodge Dealer today, to see if I could buy a new "boot" for my clutch reservoir. After looking at the parts list, it seems to indicate that the clutch reservoir parts are sold only as a complete unit ie: ( reservoir & cap, slave & master cylinder with lines )...
Hi Janni. I have been doing a complete bleed of the clutch hydraulic system. Sometimes it takes as much as 3 complete flushes to clear the system. PS: Thanks Dan and everyone for your input. (JD)
Let me clarify the problem: the fluid turns a very murky brown in color. Now I might expect this if I were using the clutch hard, but this is just normal day to day use and in a very short time frame as well. It was suggested that the seals may be deteriorating. The cap seems to fit fine.
I try and keep fresh fluids on board all season. I have noticed that even after repeated flushing and a clean refill, the fluid in my clutch reservoir turns dark in as little as 2 or 3 hundred miles of moderate driving. Because I am not running the car on the track, I have been using the...
While using HMS Headers, I have not run heat shields for the last 33K miles. No heat problems with Magnacore wires etc. I think if you loose a PS pump cap you might be toast regardless of running heat shields or not! Check the cap often.
You've got my vote Martin. Thanks for saying that. I feel exactly the same way. (JD)
quote:
Originally posted by Martin D:

Re: KLEG VIRUS - Take it Seriously!! Please don\'t transfer
I got hit with this worm this morning under the heading "help". The little bugger mutated and renamed it's self in my files 4 times before I caught it. Unfortunately my outlook express was set to "preview" so I was a goner before I...
Marc, you might try to locate a "FEL-PRO" gasket kit # 2001. This is a common collector gasket kit for 3 inch pipes and 3 bolts with 3&7/8" bolt circle. FEL-PRO gaskets can be found in the Federal-Mogul Corp. catalogue. Don't know about the 2 bolt set up.
You can use the stock one piece MoPar 04848339 gasket for each side of the manifold to head (2 required) and FEL-PRO # 2001 collector gaskets for the collector boxes. This gasket kit contains 2 gaskets.
Just a little suggestion, try not to run your tank to low because a submersible electric fuel pump needs that fuel around it to keep it cool. Sure the pump will run at low levels, but it may fail prematurely as a result. I know my Viper gas gauge is inaccurate. Learn to drive by the trip mileage...
I would have to agree with Paul. These threads would be better placed in "general discussion" or off topic. The subject of HMS's integrity has little or nothing to do with performance mod or racing discussion as I see it.
There is a simple solution, roll up the windows and turn on the AC. I would bet if you stuck your face out the window at 180 MPH you would blow out your lips etc as well Seriously though, don't run high speed with the windows down on a GTS
There are speedometer recalibration units available for non stock gear ratios that splice in to the electric sending unit. I got mine from Jon B. at the Parts Rack.
No, the hinge is not self lubricating. It is necessary to remove the hinge cover to lubricate each door hinge. I use a white lithium spray on both the pin and door check (which are one assembly). Nothing seems to last very long. The door hinge is expensive. Lube it as often as needed!
Yes, the Oreca Vipers were forced to run with both extra ballast and engine air restrictor plates in 2000 ALMS series. Not sure how much ballast was used. 2000 was a great year of racing between Vipers and Vets. Of course, we all know the outcome!
