Anyone know the law in Texas regarding vehicle emissions?

True, only 95 and older are required to go on a dyno and have tailpipe emissions measured. Anything newer and they just trust what the OBD outputs

Stainless Steel Brake Lines Any Good?

I have the StopTech SS lines I bought from JonB. These are nice because they have very nice mounting brackets and arms which help route and standoff the lines from the suspension components. Others I have seen do not have these features, which always made me worried that a line would get caught...

    Eibach springs/Lowering

I just installed mine over the weekend. Also adjusted the shocks to 3/4 turn from full in front and 1/2 turn from full in the back. I agree on the looks and the handling. The one thing I lack is an alignment, but the "feel" of the car even without the alignment is much improved.

Anyone have garage door tracks raised for 4 post lift clearance??

You are right about the track angle. When they retracked the door they ran a 45 degree turn, then a short straight section, and then another 45 degree turn to run the door up against the ceiling. When the opener starts pulling the door it immediately pulls the top edge away from the wall and up...

Anyone have garage door tracks raised for 4 post lift clearance??

Overhead Door also did my door. This included retracking the door, moving the opener to the side and replacing the extension springs with a torsion spring mechanism. Total charge $425. They did not add another panel, but since the door opener chain track is higher than before, they extended...

    Stencil or ?

Alice, I ordered somethings just like you are talking about from Bob at [email protected] a little over a year ago. Try shooting him an email and see if you has anything. I have a Fangs and Sneaky Pete logo and a large Viper logo on my garage walls.

Anyone have garage door tracks raised for 4 post lift clearance??

I had this done to accomodate a 4 post lift. You do need to talk to someone who has done this before. I talked to several companies who did not have clue. I finally got a hold of a company who has done several of these and did a great job at a real good price. They extended the tracks and added...

    porter-cable polisher/buffers which to buy?

There is a difference in the counterweight size between these models. The 7424 has a 5 inch counterweight and the 7336 has a six inch counterweight. Supposedly the larger counterweight will make for less vibration in your hands. I have never done a side-by-side comparison, but I have the 7336...

Has Anyone's Gas Light In Their Car Ever Come On?

Re: Has Anyone\'s Gas Light In Their Car Ever Come On? Hey Kurt, For a low fuel light to come on in your car, would mean you would have to take it out of the garage! :D

Has Anyone's Gas Light In Their Car Ever Come On?

Re: Has Anyone\'s Gas Light In Their Car Ever Come On? No light that I know of in my 2000 RT/10 and I do not think any Gen 1/2 had a light. My SRT/10 has a low fuel light and an audible chime when it gets really low.

    Remove clear powdercoat from rims?

Ulysses, By maintenance do you mean you need to physically repolish the rims periodically, or are you talking more about just keeping a good zanio polish on the rims? Right now, I do a brake dust wipe down quite often, but if I have to break out a random orbital polisher every weekend, then that...

    Remove clear powdercoat from rims?

Are there any cons to doing this? I am getting my factory rims repaired/repolished and I understand without the clear powdercoat the rims will be more reflective. The powdercoat seems to add a slightly milky look to the polish. I know a lot of aftermarket rims (HRE, etc) come fully polished...

    What about THIS model?

Very cool. :2tu: The work to build that was incredible. One thing - you need to modify the header on the floor behind the Viper to be for a 5 port exhaust.... ;)

Any tips on changing fuel filter?

The procedure in the service manual for depressurizing the fuel line is as John describes. The quick disconnects are very hard to get apart under pressure. Alternatively, if the car cannot be started, you can loosen the fitting with a open end wrench on the the back of the intake manifold and...

    Scary Moment Yesterday.

I had something similar happen in my 2003 SRT/10. Besides loss of power steering, remember that the water pump runs off of the power steering hydraulics. Did you notice your engine temp increasing as you drove home? The power steering pump doesn't like to run on little or no fluid either - mine...

    Best Aftermarket Radiator

I also bought a Ron Davis based on feedback from others. It is a direct drop in with one exception. The original radiator has attached studs for mounting the shroud, whereas the Ron Davis as threaded inserts. I had to go buy some metric threaded bolts to attach the shroud to the radiator. Other...

How much to remove to pull cam?

Thanks for the info Tony. I have the heads off, but have not removed the lifters. Looks like just a single bolt per cylinder to remove the retaining bracket and the lifters will lift out, or is there more to it? BTW, the service manual says you should change the lifters anytime the cam is...

How much to remove to pull cam?

Looking at changing out my cam on my 2000 RT/10. It appears that the only way to get the cam out with the engine in the car is to pull the front fascia and the AC condensor (radiator). I was hoping that I would not have to break the seal on the AC system, but it doesn't look like there is a way...

Is the e-brake handle supposed to go up this high?

I know on mine on a couple of occasions when I first got the car, if I pulled the brake handle up at an angle (like toward my shoulder instead of toward the roof of the car) it felt as if the ratchet mechanism slipped and the handle pulled up much farther than it normally did. After that, I was...

Part 1 Who lets their wife/Gf drive their Viper?

My wife has no interest and has not driven the RT/10, but she has driven and even tracked our SRT/10. There is a world of difference between the two cars in driveability.

    Shift light

I mounted the control box in the left side of the drivers footwell just under the top of the carpeting. This made the connections easier to attach to the right wires. The light itself has a very nice braided sheath that runs to the control box. This I routed up under the dash came out between...
