I hear ya. Thinking about offering my 01 Yellow/White Stripe GTS...GEN-IV top end, big cam, Diamond pistons, GEN-V wheels/tires, etc....RAM SRT-10 Trans, and other go fast goodies. What to do...what to do....or just keep it!!
Yes...and don't believe the misinformation on the AC not cutting out by design at WOT or under load. It states so in the Service Manual (2001) and the AC WOT relay is further evidence of that fact. I believe my 2002 Dakota does it as well....but I rarely go WOT with the AC on. Finally, since I...
"Roe smaller crank pulley..." WHat is that? You don't want a smaller crank pulley but a larger one (Weaver "over drive" pulley is larger) unless the new system has a really small blower pulley to offest the smaller crank pulley....but why if thatis the case???. A smaller crank pulley...
My 01 GTS is fine. Not sure as to why some are having issues. We kicked a few ideas around...ethanol mix, race gas, some other octane improvement concoction folks were running that effected these tanks. We never nailed anything definative dwn. I think 4-5 yrs ago when this issue hit he...
I've never understood the enamoration with the "100% methanol" discussion. Notwithstanding the volitility issue, the only reason you do a W/M system is to manage IATs and better control the combustion process. Methanol does very little in that regard. 100% water is actually much better at...
Definately investigate the W/M nozzle sizing. Many start with 325 x 2 and tune from that baseline. A/F can be a bit leaner given the benefits of W/M. I ran 12.0-12.5 @16 PSI on a safe tune only because of the W/M effect. No W/M, stay in the 11.X range. I was able to go to about 20 degrees...
Yeah...you are going to get a lot of head scratching on your dyno results. Todd would be the best to critique his work...not any of us. BUT you posted it so here we go.
1. Plugs too cold. Only need one step colder at that boost since you are running W/M.
2. 8.4 PSI with the 3.2 blower tells...
Sir Larry Macedo (M2 Motorsports) in the Lake Mary area...but he's been off the grid for a few years....not sure what he's been up to. I've lost touch with him.
Very strange. So the injectors were "cleaned"...Hummm. I wonder if something went askew internal to the injectors? Pintle or some other internal issue. Don't know. Injectors are one of the things I've never actually taken apart. I know when Tony Armor did mine and I let them sit for a few...
So it worked fine before the rebuild....not running out of fuel. What did you change and start there. At 6 PSI you are not going to get 830. Something's fishy here..unless you are saying you are also losing 6 PSI of boost..? What's the TOTAL PSI you are (or were) running? Oh...I assume a...
Wrong injectors from what I can see. Unbolt the fuel rails from the intake tubes so you just have the bare fuel rail in your hand. Put all five injectors into the manifold pointy end down. Orient the injector so the connector faces the supercharger. Connect all 5 injectors. Put the spacers...
WRONG...I checked the EO number (EO 411-5) for the truck and it is listed for Dodge truck headers and not a generic EO number...but Gibson does use that same EO number for their V-10 (non-SRT) truck headers...
I have a set of Gibson headers on my Quad Cab and it came with a fancy CARB sticker with the EO number embossed on it. I put it on the radiator support. I bet the embossed sticker is a generic headers emissions exemption number that could be used 'generically' for your purposes..aka (not...
Demolition Man (Stallone, Snipes, Bullock...1993) has some GEN-I in the background on some street scenes...being the sci-fi era if was intended to represent.
In my book, you didn't get a valid R28 analysis done. And I think in the back of your mind, you realize that too. THe shop should never have allowed it to be done at that interval. Did they "know" that you (or they) had just changed the oil?
+Very nice! My kid sister is just like that as well. A real car nut and has gone through many more cars than I have....and boats, snowmobiles, RVs, houses, and so forth...including the beer element. She never got into motorcycles though...
My comment regarding "technicians" in a general sense pertain to the large, monolithic corporate entities with a focus on volume, velocity, and bottom-line compliance over the actual customer issue being addressed. I think the small, independent operators do a better job since they tend to be...
Broomrider, I never realized you were a female....how would I ever gain that from your post? Guy/gal/or gender fluid, what I posted definately was gender-neutral. But I did get accused by a lady in Kuwait for being racist when I had posted a reply to a contracts question stating "The monkey was...
Facts: "Techs" do not have a degree in automotive engineering with research projects completed in automotive engine blue-printing.
Facts: Dealership "Techs" do not rebuild engines.
Facts: Dealership "Techs" have no independent diagnostic skills...just follow manufacturer diagnostics...
Since we are talking FACTS, that statement by your "mechanic" is about one of the dumbest things that could be said regarding this issue...and you bought it hook, line, and sinker. Must be cut from the same cloth as most Hillary supporters.
I have GEN-V Venoms on my 02GTS with Eilbach springs. Here's my observation. I'm running 295-30-18s up front and the factory 355-30-19's outback. Since I also have a Big Brake Kit, I had been running the spacers and stepped lug nuts with the factory wheels. With the GEN-V wheels, I kept the...
