So this is the hardest and most embarrassing thing i have ever had to write about.

A friend calls me a month ago tells me he borrowed money from some guys that are going to kill him if he cant pay it back
he tells me he bought a **** ton of ******* and cant move it, needs my help. Not wanting a friend to lose his life i agree to arrange a meeting with a guy i know in ny.
At that meeting we are all arrested for trafficking in *******, i am facing 25 years in prison for trying to help who i thought was a friend. Turns out he was an informant for the police and was released.
I have hired a great lawyer and posted bond, but the police have siezed my bank account.
I need some real viper lovers help financially to help keep my viper.

If you have the means and the love of viper or just hate that the police can totally ruin someones life on a rats word then please help.
If you can and are willing to help a fellow viper owner please im me as soon as humanly possible.

Yep, that's trafficking *******. I have met many many members on these forums, and I know of no-one here that would be willing to get involved in such a situation. Good luck to you, be careful that there is no seizure liens on the Viper as well.

Well at least you didn't die, that can be a rough crowd. If a good friend came to me with that I'd just have to call the DEA, and see if I could get the guy a good deal or something... Not judging you, we all would do a lot for a friend, but you went WAY beyond the call for friendship. So sorry for your loss.

You can throw it on the classifieds, but with all the cars out there, you may not get a great price.

One last thing, it was the "friend" who did you in? You had no priors of moving *******? Isn't that why we have entrapment laws around? I mean someone calls me and says "hey here's a million bucks, it's completely legit, I just like you" I'd be taking that... That's entrapment, I'm no lawyer of course, this deal seems to stink from what you say...

Really sorry to hear the predicament, if this was April first, I would say this was a joke, but I take you at your word and say "WOW". Thats a story!

I'm no lawyer, but I kinda agree that something about this seems fishy. If there was no actual contraband in play how can the situation be so serious? That's like me saying I have a classic Ferrari I'll sell you that might be missing a VIN plate, but if I don't really have the car how is anything illegal going on? Did the CI actually have anything on him? Otherwise this just look like some people meeting up to discuss a deal, regardless of the nature of it.

Good points Bob, but MoparMap got me thinking. I get several calls a week on people trying to move Vipers. Since I'm the Viper guy, it makes sense. So I sometimes connect buyer and seller. Completely legit, but what if one of these is stolen? I have no way of knowing, am I conspiring to commit fraud? I had no clue, I've never seen the car!?

Now the comparison falls down a bit because the item for sale is not a controlled substance (maybe in the future if Hillary is elected, any car over 200HP might be contraband), so a reasonable person would assume the car is legit... But makes you think a bit...

Heck I got a call today about a Hellcat someone had for sale (he called me due to the raffle). The car is supposedly in build status, but perhaps that's a sham, and if I assist I am colluding in a crime to sell a car that is not really there...

You are missing the point. He knowingly hooked up a seller and a buyer of *******. Everyone here is on notice of that. The situation you describe is one of a middle man for the sale of a Viper where the middle man has clean hands and is not on notice of criminal activity by either party. So in order to buy his car and not worry about whther it could be seized as contraband, the buyer has to qualify as an innocent owner under the applicable statute. On these facts, that means that the buyer would, in essence, need to rebut the possible government's position that he or she was on notice that the seller had bought the car with drug or other illegal proceeds or used the car in the conspiracy. For instance, did he drive to the meeting in the Viper? If so, was the ******* in the Viper?

Bottom line. I do not care how good a friend the guy was. The right thing for him to have done was to tell his friend to go to the FBI for help. I am assuming the lenders were loan sharks.

I won't sit in judgement on what happened. Impossible to know what the facts are when sitting at this end of the internet. Although I am in the pool of potential buyers, it isn't the color I would settle for; but, it is a great looking color.

Yes the hatch was fixed, by prefix, As to all other questions, no this is not a joke. Yes the so called friend had the two kilos with him during the meeting, so it was not just hearsay but actual "possession " as they call it!
The law is very vague who it comes to actual possession but it seems like if you are in the same car or ha e knowledge of the deal you can and will be convicted, or at least arrested.
Yes I should of told him to go to the police, but in hind sight, he already had went to the police! Hence I got arrested. I never wanted to hold this thing nor profit from it, but it's on me now.
I was really hoping that maybe someone if means would help out if they could, just because I am not a bad person just made a bad choice.

The viper was not used in this crime, and no there is not a seizure order for the car, it has a loan and in my girl's name. So any buyer please feel free to contact me. Car has 2260 miles.

The problem is that you are virtually an unknown person to us. The only reason that many of us might have sympathy for you is if we knew you as a regular guy like us. I'm guessing that 99+% of us don't know someone that can move 4 pounds of *******, so, we can't relate. Nowadays many of us do probably know someone who is/was addicted to ******* or ****** or ****. So, we might be a bit biased. We have no idea whether you are a regular guy who just did a stupid thing or if you are someone that the police already had info that was in the business somehow. If it is an outright entrapment of a regular guy, I feel bad that you walked into the trap. I felt bad when I sat on a jury that convicted a girl who didn't really do much more than drive the getaway car in a holdup that went bad; but, she had the choice to walk away and didn't.
