Bob, I am expecting mine soon. Good write-up. Can you explain #3 a bit more. How different on Decel?
Also, confirming, your car is stock other than the PCM, correct?
Personally, think it would look terrible if left as exposed CF on that color combo. Now painted to match could look very good, almost Shelby Daytona good. I remember someone having a pic of this, but can't find it and would love to see again.
I am just saying, if you have not driven either, that is not a fully educated statement to make. Lets say you had $200k in your pocket and wanted to buy a sports car with it. Heck, for arguments sake, lets say the money was given to you for this purpose. I don't think you would be even...
Nothing about the feel is the same and the quality difference if off the charts when comparing quality of the 911 to the GTR. Are you really saying you have driven both and think the feel is the same?
If in your shoes, get the color you want first of all. Otherwise, do you want to be that guy that always thinks they "settled"? Second, no idea why anyone would be waiting for a 15 when new 13's and 14's exist out there. There is virtually no difference in the cars. Lastly, definitely get...
I wonder if being too optimistic with the tune. Gains in the past were clear and pretty easy, but those had a big SC spinning slowly vs a small one already spinning like crazy. They likely put the protection items in place to keep it from blowing. Just a thought.
But in general, we should...
Actually, I think closer to 2000 RTM for 70mph in 6th. Will agree the Gen5 is much more enjoyable to drive than my Gen3 (other than not being a conv). Also agree on the C7 comments, just not a good look for me, but I suspect a better daily driver.
That is always how it has worked in car sales. If you are truly interested and serious, just give them your serious offer of the price you want to pay and have them give you a Yes or No. That is the only way to find out.
I can't think of any. I would think the TA suspension would be more expensive and not nearly as good. You don't get the height adjustability or the quality of dampers or the ability to adjust compression and rebound.
Man, I started this post as just a recognition of the fact the trolls had disappeared, but man, been gone a week and realize the word troll must be like honey to bees for these folks, they just get drawn in. There is some great posts by actual owners in this thread.
Bruce's post on the track...
You know, the guys that continually said the car did not have enough power, did not look very good, was not better than their prior gens, wanted to redesign it in every way, all the while saying they could afford one if they wanted too and were passionate about the car...
Odd, the car starts...
you got beat up on it because you were not cross shopping, just pretending to be. 4door luxury sedan vs 2door sports car. AMG is great and so is Viper, but completely different rides. One has luxury and straight line performance as it best attributes while the other is all about all around...
you believe the hellcat is going to affect viper sales? ok, winter coming. Dude, if in the market, go get one. You seem to be waiting forever for the magical deal. Heck, wait a couple more years and buy a used one. buy a used one now. In the end, what are you going to do, tell everyone...
The funny part is watching folks still thinking the deals are going to get better. They can see the price drop, the big boost in sales and still want to hold out. If you want the car, go get one now. the 15's are the identical car, so if a car with the color and options exist in the country...
just to make sure all on the same page.
If want an LE (#'d car), they were only made in 2013 and numbered 1-150.
the Canadian cars are that same color combo, but not numbered
So, if that is the color combo you want, what you do is determined by where you live. If in the US and you want that...
Virtually identical. 14's have a rain mode for traction control. Couple other colors in 14 and some you can't get anymore from 13.
14's GTS come stock with trackpack brakes and SRT model no longer has as an option. TA model was not avail in 13.
That is an awesome series of events. Potential buyer is serious about the car, asks some questions from owners, gets useful feedback and then makes the purchase. I think that is how the forums are supposed to work and congrats!
This is so true for the Gen5. Gen3's were super easy, just let the clutch out and go. Gen5 not so much. rent a mustang gt for a weekend and drive all over the place to get a hang of it.
If he could not sell if for 105k (15k off), not sure why you think he should now drop another 15k? He should price it lower for sure, but just low enough to sell it. the drop in MSRP is there just to help the dealer and attract more buyers. How much they drop below the MSRP is completely...
Depends on what you want. A loaded GTS for the best deal possible, get a 13 that is out there ( the 14 gets you a rain mode in traction control for more money). If you want a remaining TA, jump o one now. If you want a TA 2.0, you have to wait anyways. I guess I would think the only reason...
