Rather than change to 3.55 gears, you can do what I did; just change out 5th and 6th gears. I went with closer ratio 5th and 6th gears, so the car would pull harder in 5th.
Gas consumption suffered a little, but not much, and the car no longer bogs when shifting hard from 4th into 5th...
A good suspension will allow you to feel the road, but won't be unsettled by bumps.
Carroll Smith, in a book on race car chassis/suspension set up states "Your race car should be easier and more pleasant to drive than your street car. If it isn't, someone is doing something wrong." I agree...
Get Motons, new springs (stiffer, but with a more linear progression than stock springs) and the car will handle better and be more comfortable.
Only downside is cost.
If this is the first time you've heard of this happening, you either haven't been on the boards long or haven't been paying attention.
Here is my stock rod:

I use the PS2 on the street. Really like them a lot. They don't sell 345 widths in 18 inch sizes, but the 335's fit my SSR (13 inch width) just fine. I run 295 width up front.
I am the president of the Western region of Viper Modder's Anonymous. We are a 12-step program support group for those who believe that they might have a viper modding addiction. You are welcome to attend one of our support group sessions. It's free, and you can gain the support of other good...
Don't expect significant power gains with intake and header/exhaust mods. If it were my car, I would not bother. You could easily spend $6,000 on mods and have no seat of the pants change to your car's performance.
A Paxton supercharger is the most cost effective way to add power to...
At the Sandhills Open Road Challenge in Nebraska, I went 159mph in my bone stock SRT-10. I could have gone faster with better shifting. 160mph is certainly possible at a reasonable altitude.
Just got back from the NASA event at Pueblo.
Lots of track time. Lots of cool cars. Lots of helpful and friendly people. Only 2 Vipers.
If any of you are interested in taking your Viper to the track, I can't think of a more fun or user friendly venue than a NASA track day. There are...
For those who are interested in driving the Colorado State Patrol track, the Z club is running an event there. Z club track events are open to all cars, not just Z cars.
I've run Z club events before, and had a lot of fun. Lots of very cool guys in the Z-club.
The next event for the z...
Interesting article.
I remember when Ford, GM, and Chrysler were the "Big 3" not the "Detroit 3."
I wonder if the American automobile industry will go the way of the steel industy, shoe industry, and electronics industy.
The American auto makers don't seem to have any answers.
I like this one:

It's really easy to read because of the big face, and it's very well made.
I was at an open track day. Lost the #3 rod bearing due to oil starvation. Started a cascade of bad events culminating in a blown engine. (You can check my member gallery for pictures of shattered rods, pistons, damaged block, etc.) I had a comp coupe oil pan on the car at the time...
It has taken me a while, but I finally own what I believe is the ultimate Viper (although others certainly wouldn't agree.)
I may put some custom paint on it some day, or maybe quiet the exhaust a bit, but for now it's perfect.
